Abstract :
Microfinance means the provision of financial services to low-income clients, including consumers and the self employed, who traditionally lack access to banking and related services. The microfinance sector in India went on to evolve in the 1980s around the concept of SHGs, informal bodies that would provide their clients with much-needed savings and credit services.
